Why use a ADXL345 Sensor with your Creality Sonic Pad?

With the introduction of Creality’s Sonic Pad, it has brought a easy solution to adding Klipper firmware to Creality printers (and other 3D Printers).

Klipper firmware is designed to improve the performance and accuracy of 3D printers by offloading complex calculations to a high-performance host computer while still being able to run on a low-cost microcontroller. This allows for a more efficient use of resources and results in faster, smoother, and more precise motion control.

The firmware can use an ADXL345 G-Sensor to measure resonance frequencies of the printer on different axes to improve the accuracy of the printer's motion control. The sensor is typically mounted on the printer's moving parts, such as the print head or the bed. The sensor measures the acceleration of the moving parts and sends this information back to the Klipper firmware.

Klipper firmware can then use this information to compensate for any inaccuracies in the printer's motion control. For example, if the sensor detects that the print head is accelerating faster or slower than expected, the firmware can adjust the printer's speed accordingly to maintain a consistent level of precision.
